Pretty similar to my story. Usually pull a few quads on a trailer to the trail head with mine, 2nd biggest Yeti they make in the back (biggest you can fit sideways in an XJ) fully loaded. I'm ditching my rack this year though...can't stand it anymore. I was looking at the Rubricon Express 3.5" springs for under $200 (matches the lift).

how? i'm curious. the entire pack front or rear is only 44" along the surface. the center pin is 22 11/16" right in the middle. the cherokee center pin is 23" from the front. so how do you guys make it work? where are you putting the springs for stretch?

You make your own mounts.

so yj leafs because they are more supple? otherwise you could just hack up any old leaf pack and put them where you want. sorry, i figured y'all were talking about factory front hanger locations...

I have these on my XJ, they're cheap, flex awesome, and ride really nice. Don't pay attention to the explorer part, they're XJ springs. They give about 3.5-4" of lift.

For departure angle, the less leaf spring behind the axle the further you can mount the axle back without hurting your departure angle. They flex and ride great too.

While I have never seen them on an xj, I don't see why they would be a bad choice. Everyone is all hung up on getting maximum flex and travel and shoots for stock length or longer leaf springs. These with a good shackle angle flex plenty and they ride great.

(not an xj, but this is my current truck with yj leaves)

They are just a short, inexpensive, 2.5" wide leaf spring that works well.

The shortness is just an advantage when you want a wheelbase stretch and don't want any leaf spring hanging off the back to constantly get hit. (well, hit as much as a longer leaf anyway)

Pretty much any year, they'll give you about a 3" stretch, you know that right? That means you'll need a longer drive shaft and probably a cut out rear fender well

He was probably talking about which leafs to use for a bastard pack.. And yes, any model leafs will work, whether its from an s10 or s10 blazer. Heres a nice little link Dukie gave me when i was doing research for my bastard pack.
