Anyone know if these lights (6" KC Daylighters) will fit where the stock bumper-mounted fog lights went? Well... I think they were stock fog lights. If not, they were identical to the ones I've seen on hundreds of XJs.
Mine's a '95.
My dad broke one off, and they didn't work anyway, so I figure I may as well upgrade as I replace... It looks empty without them there, plus you can see where they used to be and it looks bad. Plus, when it rains here it really rains, so I could use them.

Picture of my old lights, to help with my description:
Thanks in advance!
By the way, if they won't fit (I have no interest in cutting the grill or making/buying a light bar or bumper), does anyone have any suggestions?

Kc lights are a lot thicker so you would have issues with it contacting the grill.
I suggest you take a spin around www.olympusoffroad.com

If I'm spending over $100, I'd like metal ones, and the warranty is nice, too... So I guess I'll save for the slimlines, because I really don't want to hack a hole in my grille.

I'd say hella 500s or kc slimlites. I had both of those options on my old pickup. I didn't have room for the daylighters.
I only had inch and half tabs on the front bumper.

Does this mod require any updating to the wiring or will the stock wiring handle the current draw of the new bulbs? Don't know the wattage of the stock bulbs, but I know they are pretty dim. It this just Plug N Play?

x2, just installed this pair on my stock bumper today and they fit great, much slimmer than the daylighters and cheaper than the slimlights

The OEM wiring will not handle the current draw of a set of Daylighters.

So disable the factory wiring and run all new wiring? Or can I use the factory harness to switch a relay and run bigger guage wires for the lights' power? That will retain the original switch as well as the option of disabling the lights while headlights are on bright, gotta stay legal you know!
The OEM wiring already includes a relay for the foglights, but you'll be adding a second relay and that's just another wiring mess to troubleshoot if you run into problems. Keep is simple and clean, use a dedicate harness for you're new lights.
Most aftermarket lights will come with a wiring harness and relay anyway. I've got them individually if you need one.

LOL I kid.
