Just bought a set (5) of these, 15x7, 5x4.5 steel wheels:

They're used, and pretty scuffed & flaking in spots. But the center caps are solid, and I got them for a dream (thanks, Craigslist!).

Any ideas/advice as to how I should paint them? What do you guys think would look good, and what paint brands do you recommend? I was thinking about going for a matte black look with John Deere Blitz Black. Thoughts?

I have a stock '99 XJ Sport, 4.0, Forest Green.

I Painted my rims and it's all about preparation. Just sand, prime and paint but make sure you put on a protective wheel coating afterwards so it won't scratch off

 

Thanks QRoberts- checked out your build thread. Your wheels turned out great. Do you think I should keep the steel color to contrast the black, or go all black?

BTW, I'm up in the ADKS all the time. One of my favorite places on earth.

 

Personally I think all black looks bad. If you want to do them dark, a gunmetal color would look great. I think silver would look the best though. In the end it's just up to you...
