Justto confirm your not chasing ghosts...was the engine moderately warm, and was the throttle body wedged mostly open during test. I also pull fuel pump relay.

engine was cold, does that make a difference? I did have the throttle body open and pulled the fuel pump relay?

When warmed up the pistons and rings seat better, the lifters are usually fully filled and the valves seat better..you get a more accurate compression reading

Just some clarification in case i missed it...when you say lo....how lo. what are your numbers. 2nd, if your spiking your temps to above 250 and actually boiling coolant overboard. Then you definitely have a bad head gasket and possibly a cracked or warped head

the strange thing is I just replaced the head gasket less not even 5k miles ago, we bought the new head remanned and checked the block if it was warped which it was not. Either way that gets addressed with doing a 4.7 cuz you have to take the head off so we will check if its flat or warped. It is also definetly boiling coolant, as well as at this point actually spiking that high, before it would spike to 230 but then the gauge would read high and that was when the coolant was boiling over, not sure how it works but my guess is the gauge/system has a built in way to alert you when the coolant is boiling over,
