Default Installing Viper right now and I cant get the parking lights or horn to work!

Hello, fast responses would be great because I am installing a viper remote start/keyless entry (4103 XV) and I'm just doing the keyless entry part today but I can't seem to get my parking lights or horn to flash/honk. I know I am using the correct wires and I can get the car to lock/unlock. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any special tricks? Thanks, Rob.

Most newer Viper alarms have a little trap door on the top of the unit with a fuse taped to the inside that must be put in the correct two pins for either (+) or (-) light flash. Cherokee should be (+) but please check that and don't take my word for it.

As far as the horn, you probably need to install a relay for the Viper to supply enough current to honk the horn. Most alarm including the Viper have a (-) output and although the horn trigger wire in the car is (-) it can still pull too much current from the alarm and it will not work.

Thanks for the help. I didnt get a chance to read these posts before but I almost set my car on fire twice while installing the remote start so I decided to suck it up and give it to a shop to install. I cant install half (Keyless entry) and give them the other half (Remote Start) to do do I ended up taking everything out. Fixing all of the factory Wires I went into and I had to make the viper system look brand new again because I don't have experience with this shop and I'm not sure how picky they are about installing "Opened" Systems so I tied up all of the wires, made all of the wires even and made sure everything was insulated.. They quoted me pretty cheap for a full install otherwise I probably would've tried again myself. I was quoted by two shops. One quoted $200 and the other quoted $100 for a full install and waranty . Thanks for the replies though. Thanks again, Rob.

Is there a write up for installing a remote start, alarm, lock and unlock?
