Please Help me identify this transfer case in a 1986 with a 2.5 gas and a manual transmission, I know there is not a lot to go by but even the dealer i tried here in Canada to help me could not help as it is too old. My intention is to order a new 26 spline transfer case yoke and find a double cardan driveshaft to fit. I have a friend in British Columbia at the moment who could probably find me the required parts out there. Thanks For your help!

 

Should be an NP207.

 

The top left looks like 297 to me, but that didn't exist. This is a tag is almost definitely from the NP207 which came in Jeep XJs of that year. I'm a bit confused that your shops couldn't help. A quick google search for the low range ratio of 2.61 (stated on the tag) made by New Process would lead to the NP207 or NP228 very quickly.
