How tall must I go for 33 inch tires?

I put on a short arm kit with drop down brackets. Cannot tell you the brand because I bought it out of a wrecking yard for $75.00 came with shocks, rear springs, front coils and drop down brackets. Coils are much bigger than stock and black in color. I am running 31s and have plenty of clearance. From ground to inside of fender flair is 36 inches. Can I run 33s?

I started out with a 3.5 inch lift and 31s then added new rear shackles and fromt coil over spacers which added about an inch of lift. I still have the 31s but could clear 33s easy.

Someone on here fit 36"s on a stock XJ. Just need a lot of trimming and a lot of wheel backspacing and you can fit anything.

When you get a chance could you measure from the ground to the inside edge of your fender flair. Thanks

3.5" lift + Rusty's flairs & trimming = 33s and no dirt slung on the side all the time, or 4.5" lift & stock flairs. I recomend less lift, lower center of gravity = better, safer handling. Stay away from roof rack mounted spare for the same reason. When you get the chance ditch the drop brackets as they limit clearance and will drag when the front tires come down of an obstacle. I recomend Tomkin contol arms to solve that problem, very strong + adjustable for proper alignment, and a great bunch of Rocky mountain Jeep guys! When I buy something from them, I usually drive up and pickup in person, great drive and good to meet and know the people building your parts.

Just make really wide turns?
I have
235/75/15 and when I turn Left my tire rubs. I was afraid to even try 31x10.5 because of the rubbing. Although I also have stock rims.

Thanks for your help. I measured mine and I am at 36 inches from ground to inside top of fender flair. 2 more inches would probably do it. Tires being 2 inches taller. It would be nice to find a 33x10.50x15 tires really dont want to go wider just taller. I dropped the transfer case an inch because of the drive line angle, I suppose I would have to change that along with brake lines. Thanks for your help.

remember ur goin two inches bigger but its split equally so really a ride height it will be an inch taller around ur fender but it will also stand around an inch taller....i have a buddy with about a 4-5 inch and hes able to run 34's with a small amount of trimming but not even the whole bend n tuck deal so your safe....good luck

tires and lift

i just bought a 1991 jeep cherokee. We are planning on cutting the fenders and putting a 3-4 inch lift on it. We are also planning on putting 33 inch swampers on it. i had a guy tell me that this would not work because the tires would rub/ but my friend who has dealt with off roading vehicles for along time says that it will be fine. What is everyones thoughts on this?
