How much lift for my xj?

I have a 1988 Jeep Cherokee. Its stock height with stock tires. I want to put 30x10.5/15 on it. How much lift, backspacing, etc would I need to keep the tire from rubbing on anything without any fender cutting? What about gear ratios? Its the 4.0L manual.

A 2" budget boost would be plenty enough. 30x9.50 is barely bigger than a 235/75r15. Honestly, if your stock springs are in good shape, you could probably run them with no lift. And you definitely don't need a regear

The tires are 30x10.50 and the stock is 205/75. From what I looked up its like a 3 inch diameter difference and some inch or two width.

You can run a 235/75r15 on no lift with zero issues, thus why I made the comparison. If you use stock wheels, the 10.50" wide tires will rub the lower control arms when you turn tight

Here's what 235/75-15 Firestone Destination ATs (about 29") look like with factory Ravine wheels and a 2" lift (spacers up front and 2" OME spring packs in back. I also have 1.25" wheel spacers to give it a slightly wider stance.

A 2" lift is cheap, and doesn't require a SYE or other pricey add-ons. If all you do is mild to moderate trail running, it's plenty. Get spacer blocks up front for $50, new full springs packs out back for about $90-$125 each, and new shocks at $45 each. I'd seriously get new springs in back no matter what. Cherokees are notorious for sagging rear springs and a major case of drag-***, so if you're going to go to the trouble, just get new ones.
