Just bought a chrysler 8.25 27 spline with a spartan locker inside. Im going to do a disc conversion on it before bolting it up. (Its replacing my stock d35). I understand(i think) that this axle has c clips, and to remove the shafts I need to take out the C Clips. Normally this would be easy to do with an open diff but I have a lunchbox locker in the carrier so I cannot get to them/take them out. Is there an alternate way to get these out /remove the axle shafts? Am I retarded and there is no C Clips? I attached a photo to show what I am looking at. I removed the pin already.

You are going to have to use some sort of tool (flat head screwdriver, thick washer, etc) to compress the spartan locker together. That will allow you to get a small stick magnet in to access the c-clips.
You have the right idea by pulling the cross pin already.
The c-clip lives in here. (thats a google pic by the way, I'm not a female.

Remove the springs first which will allow the inside teeth to spin. With the axle shafts removed or at least pulled out slightly you should be able to pull out one side of the teeth and then the same goes for the other side. Be careful not to loose the pins. As long as you've pulled the shaft out far enough the outer teeth should be easily removed.

If you have some picks you should be able to kind of compress it and pull it out, you might need two and you might bend or misshape one or two. New springs aren't incredibly expensive from what I've heard.
I took out a Aussie out of a D35 and that has two springs one inside of the other.

Fast forward to about 3 minutes, will show where the c-clips go. You will need to use some force to compress the locker together enough to access the c-clips.

Looks like he needs to pin back those spring pins with retaining wire so it gives you a little space to work with the C-clips..
Also that looks like an Aussie locker in that pic with the chick.. Cross pin hole has a off half moon shape,, that's what mine looked like.

Tool should be inserted in outside edge of oval hole as pictured. If ring gear is interfering, place tool between spring and pin, gently separate the two to pop spring out. This is basically the reverse method of installation.

you caught me...
