How do i bolt this thing on???

I got a transfer case skid plate from the junkyard. The xj there had the bolts threaded into the uni-body. My xj doesn't even have holes to thread. You guys have any bright ideas how to mount this thing up???

drill a nice big hole and weld nuts into the unibody?

drill and tap the unibody?

sure there are many ways... those are just the first that came to mind...

I would imagine self tapping bolts would work well. Just drill a hole and feed it in.

The factory used a crush nut. Dril the hole and put the insert in the hole when you tighten it flares on the inside the rail. The other end just drill throught the mount on the flange use bolts and lock nuts.
