Default How to "adjust" your driving style with Lunchbox lockers?

Alright, I picked up a jeep and I seen people say that you have to just adjust your driving style when you use these lunchbox lockers. What exactly do they mean? What kind of compensation do you need to do? Let off the gas in turns? Dont turn the wheel as much? Is the popping "alright"? Is it alright to turn sharp etc.

I found I let off in curves and when taking off in a turn I don't gun it but otherwise I drive like I do anything else.

I just press the clutch in going around turns, smooths out the ride

I drive pretty much the same as before and dont notice it. only difference is for tight turns I go easier on the gas so as not to skip around the turn

I used to get a lot of jerking and lurching with the Lock Rites I had in my Toyota Truck. I didn't have to change a thing about how I drive after putting Aussie Lockers front and rear in my XJ. A little quiet clicking whenever they unlock in the corners real true 4WD on the trails. That's the only way I even know they are there.

Anyone use an additive with the Aussie or like lockers? I'm sure the OP would be interested to know as well!

The only thing out of the ordinary is in the instructions say for you to use 80W-140 gear oil in your diff with an Aussie rather than regular 80W-90. I imagine it helps make them run quieter.

You don't need special additives, with lockers. You do with the stock LSD.

Thanks fellas. Can they be damaged with tight turns or anything?

Explain A LITTLE HARSH? Just cause I took my Aussie locked 8.25 out on the rocks & put it threw its paces for sure. Ever since its popping going strait down the road (veers right), & pops HARD in slow, easy on the pedal turns! It gets crazy bad if I get into it coming out of a right hand turn! I pulled the cover off that night & all looked well; springs, pins, cam gear teeth... what's your opinions on it? I was thinking it might be because the thing was caked in grease before from the install... oh & it acts normal going left! Wtf

I always used full synthetic 80-140, kept it quiet and cool. Pretty much just don't give it alot of gas going around corners and you'll be fine.
