Question High Volume Oil pump

Any benefits to using a high volume oil pump. Increase in oil pressure? I am looking at a Mellings pump for my 120k mile 4.0 with oil pressure of 15 at hot idle.

Higher oil pressure is the only benefit but it sounds like you don't really need one since your running 15 psi at warm idle anyway.

High volume does not equal an increase in pressure.

You got the 0331. Lower oil pressure is a sign of that cracked head. Didn't know if you knew.

higher mileage motors have greater bearing clearances so they would benefit from a hv pump but it wont raise your pressure.

volume=the amount of fluid and Pressure= well the force of the fluid

Is your 15# hot from your dash gauge or verified with a mechanical gauge?

My 159K '96 was showing sub 20# at idle and sub 40# at operating speed and then went down and varied....replaced the sending unit and its back to 40# at idle and 55# driving.
