Default Help with my jeep.

Ok guys my jeeps a little different. I race my jeep in a very competitive race in my area called stock tuff truck. Rules are like this, v6 to v8 stock motor. May be a refreshed motor and may have any bolt on as long as motors not modified. So.... I have a 91 HO jeep cherokee. Mother trucker would scream straight factory. But... I just put a 99 model intake on it (with 99 model power steering pump), new plugs, new plug wires, new distributor cap, new rotor button, new fuel pump, new fuel filter. Since this its been one prob after another. After a long night at the track last night, its running again and faster than ever! (Thank God.) So... What can I do that's a bolt on to make this jeep unbeatable? I have a great lift and suspension so I only need motor advice. Im still running factory injectors. Lets hear it jeepers! HELP.

Well I'd start with upgrading the injectors. There's a vendor that sells em here. Also, they pop up in the for sale section all the time. Keep an eye out

Is underdriving the power steering a possibility? You know how much assist you need but, in other racing, sometimes you can steal back some power by spinning it a little slower.

Headers/Exhaust?

Try experimenting with a smaller pulley and tightening up the belts.

Sometimes going down the line and seeing where you can reduce friction a little at each step can be noticeable in the end. A close eye on lubrication and making sure everything spins freely, may mean you waste a few horsepower less which is as good as making more.
