I've got 4 square LED lights that I've got on top of my jeep they are Trucklite part number 8161. I got them all hooked up and they don't work any ideas? Lights are brand new and the grounds are good I already checked that. the lights have a model on the box that is LMP,SPT,LED,9v-36v 4inch x 3.75inch. I used a multimeter to check how much voltage I'm getting at the connections just before the lights it's 12.6 volts so I'm a little befuttled.

 

Wire them straight to the battery while in your hand or something. You can't ohm them out because they're LED's.

How did you ground them and how did you check they have a good ground?

If you have a ground and between 9-36v, they should light up.

 

Ya that was the next part of the plan I just haven't done it yet. And how I checked the ground is when I was using the multimeter I put the negative probe on the bolt the lights are grounded to as well as used a test light

 

I got it! Black is hot white was ground I had them switched cause of.....reasons. Lol stupid moment of the day. Thanks for the help and I'm new to the forum hopefully I'll find some other helpful things on here
