Heim Steering
Starting off this is not my DD and I already know the pros and cons of running heims. I'm just looking for advice between the traditional ruff stuff setup vs the iro.
Heres links to the two I'm referring to:
http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/11060.html
http://bleeoffroad.com/item/standard-steering-kit
i'm looking for people who have experience running these two set ups and the pros and cons of each. Id prefer not to locate my track bar and run UTK.
-Thanks

I really like my B Lee HD high clearance set up. I have used it more on the road than off at this point, and it steers nice. I just need to get my OTK track bar done...

My steering basically copies the IRO kit without the stupid sleeve adjuster. I like it, its super strong(bigger than iro) But if I were to do it again, I'd build a legit crossover and re-mount my track bar.

The long term plan is to put it OTK eventually once it is completely off the street which is why I'm leaning towards blees setup. Dano I'm curious since you've driven it a lot on the road is there a lot of bump steer or how does it handles any different. Is the tre roll completely gone?

it has some bump steer. but I can't say it's from the steering. my whole front end needs to get some work after beating on it and a couple unintentional jumps. but for the most part the roll is gone. definitely tighter than stock.

I think he was asking Dano, who most likely has bump steer. Bump steer occurs when your track bar and drag link are not the same length and angle. You want them to be parallel and equal length. If they are not, they will have different motion under suspension travel. So when you hit a bump it could cause the steering wheel to move without your input
OP if I was you I would just do OTK T-link steering right from the get go with an over the axle track bar. Do it once, be done with it

I have ruff stuffs heim set up. If I could do it over again I would do inverted T 1 ton TREs steering. Easier, super simple, and makes for a better/easier track bar angle.
