Headlights problem
Hello mates.
I decided to install crystal headlights with HID kit. Checked the HID if it works - it does! Glows like the sun!
So far so good...but...disaster hap-end!
After the wiring, the lights didn't work!
Cheeked the fuses it was good. It was 40A fuse on the Jeep and 30A on the HID.They where fine. I've got a volt meter an decided to check the sockets for the regular H4 bulb if there's any current power. The volt meter didn't show any readings.
I've returned the old headlights, but they FAILED to turn on...
My questions are:
What to check ?
Where to find it?
What can be the reason for this failing?

Have you upgraded your wiring harness for the headlights?
It could be you fried the headlight switch with the new headlights checkout the putco harness upgrade ill post a link in a min.

Yep, the draw from the HID ballast might have cooked your headlight switch without the harness. Give us some info on your rig... year, engine, transmission, etc... It'll help us help you.

they use lots more than 35 watts at startup the reason it only plugs into one socket is that it uses the old lo/hi beam signal to fire the relay
those crystal lenses arent very good as far as where they put the light output you will likely get flashed alot for blinding oncoming drivers

Good question! So when I'm facing the car the right plug has the power for hi/lo beam, all is well! On the left side, the plug has nothing, no current! On the fog lamp plug there is a constant current, but that is a different story. So I switched the cables on the HID kit, and now they work, BUT only on one beam. I will see tonight what the beam is, is it Low or High. Funny because they work when I turn the High beam from the indicator stick.

did u get a dual beam kit? the cheaper ones are only lo beam
pulling in the hi beam stalk activates both hi and lo beams at the same time so they are activating on the low beam circuit

The interesting thing is, that the HID kit needs only one socket from the old halogen bulb connectors. The kit is using just 35 watts of power, the old bulbs are 55/60 watts [IMG]
