Default Hard pan headliner

Has anyone seen a hard pan headliner for a Jeep Cherokee???? What I mean by hard pan is like a fiberglass or a hard plastic headliner.... I recently did my headliner and the headliner was very weak and it is collapsing.... I would like to know if anyone knows of anybody who sells hard headliner, or if not how do you make one????

Never seen or heard of em. I would go to the junkyard and pull the headliner board out of another jeep that is in good condition. Some people just leave the fabrics off, sand or down, and bedline or pant it.

Mine didn't have a hard board for the headliner, it just had think insulation.... I see all these headliner recovers on YouTube and elsewhere and they are all working with a hard board.... Mine wasn't even close to being a hard board...

must have been the previous owner who removed it. Go to the Junkyard and get a new board. The board is made out a cardboard/fiberglass material.

Yeah junkyard would be your best and cheapest option for one.

If you have the backing board just have it redone at an upholstery shop should be cheaper than mine was as they had to remove and replace everything. it only cost $125 to have it done in factory color.

Make sure you have all the trim pieces that go all around the edge along with the lights they all hold it up.

I have no issues reuphostering it myself, I used to do aircraft upholstery when I was in the military. My issue is that the insulation is weak and it is collapsing in down the center, that's why I want a hard board so it will have structure.

My headliner is from an MJ which cannot be found or replaced.

XJs can be found, replace yours.

Or, you can coat with resin and use fiberglass to reinforce, but, not cheap for one that big, will probably cost you $40.

There is hard board under the material with the insulation attached to it. You have to remove all the trim then pull the board out the rear clean all the insulation from the board then use headliner material with it on it. They all sag like that when the material droops.
