H4/9003 Bulb Opinions
I have h4 conversion headlights and an upgraded harness in my jeep, and the time has come for new bulbs (blew one of the low beams yesterday). I have been running Silverstars since I put them in, and liked the light output, but I'd like ones that are a bit whiter. I'd like to see what others are running and recommend as alternatives.
Maybe the Silverstar Ultras?

I just received my autopal h4 headlights and will be running them with 4300k low beam xenon light and halogen highbeam. Ran this setup on all my vehicles and love it! Purest form of lumens ever!!!

Hella Super White bulbs. Period.
You can mail-order them from Susquehanna Motorsports (www.rallylight.com, where I usually get them,) or look for a Navistar dealer near you (I believe they're still full-line Hella lighting vendors.)

I'm leaning towards Philips X-tream Power +80s. Amazon has 'em for $29 for a double pack. Anyone have experience with those? They got great reviews.

I did the IPF H4 conversion and used the IPF H4 Fatboy II Superclear bulbs. They are awesome and are waaaay brighter than the stock lights. I have had them on since April and would highly recommend them. I am going to do the Wire harness upgrade kit from ARB soon and I am sure there is going to be another noticeable difference there as well.

yea i looked at the fatboys but they're crazy expensive, as well as technically being illegal (not DOT approved).
BTW as far as a wiring upgrade, don't bother with the ARB one - way expensive. Get this one and use code "JeepForum" for another 30% off. I have it and it's awesome.

I'm running PIAAs, and they are expensive, but much brighter than the halogen bulbs that came with my Delta H4 e-code housings.

Anything above a 65W (low beam) bulb is considered an "Off-Highway" light due to the intensity and the potential to blind other drivers.

I don't see as well at night as I did when I was younger, so upgraded the headlights and added a pair of PIAA 520ATPs as auxiliary lows. I pulled the supplied 85w bulbs and used some of their 55W bulbs to tone them down. They still refelct too much light up off a wet road surface, so I'm careful where and when I use them. They're great for rural, low traffic areas and really fill behind high beams also.
