Default ? grand cherokee brake master cylinder upgrade

I recently did a master cylinder upgrade on my 87 mj i did everything thoroughly I bench bled the master cylinder bled all brakes and all fittings are tight. I had brakes for about five minutes into my maiden voyage around my yard and then lost the pedal now i have no brakes checked all fittings still tight bled brakes again could the master cylinder be bad ? i also changed the proportioning valve because they mj one is different so i used one from an 88 xj where should i start to locate my new problem? thanks 87mj
