Doesn't really matter, the 4x4 pack will probably have more leaves to play around with. For 2" you will probably only need the main leaf anyways but I would grab the biggest pack you can so you can mix and match to get the desired lift.

Google search for bastard pack and you will find long and detailed write ups.

In a nutshell

Get the entire leaf pack from a S10, Dakota, XJ or really anything that has a 2.5 inch wide leaf. I got mine of off a 90's Dakota 4x4. If you havent pulled these off of a junk yard vehicle before, bring a breaker bar, a BFH and maybe a buddy, some of them can be pretty hard to yank off.

For your jeep, Leave your main leaf attached to the truck. Lower your axle, and take apart your leaf pack from the bottom. Create your own leaf packs by combining the leafs from your XJ, and your junk yards leafs to get the right ride height for you. The only real way to do it is trial and error. The height all depends on the leafs you got, and how worn they are

I had one that was an XJ leaf, S10 leaf, XJ leaf, S10 leaf, XJ leaf. That gave me about 2 inches and sagged to flat in 6 months.

The one I have now is my XJ main leaf, and then the entire Dakota leaf pack. That gave me around 3.5 inches and has been on for several months with no sag at all. its a little bumpy, but not too bad

BTW, you will likley need to replace your u bolts and center pins

This website will show step by step how to set up the bastard pack for up to a 4.5 in lift. I did the 4.5 over a year ago with no noticeable sag

Just as a reference, I used an entire s10 pack with 4 leafs under just my XJ main and got 3.5". You can mix and match to get whatever hight and stiffness you want

edit: mine is bumpy too but mostly because of the shackle angle sucks, not the pack

Me and another member here did a junkyard pk on my 95 also. Used the main S10 under the main XJ and used the others under it and got 4.5 in mine.

I got around 4 inches and I only used 2 of the S10 leafs, your XJ leafs must have been in really bad shape

Buy new U bolts and center spring pack pins for the bastard pack and also some new spring clamps so you don't have to worry about stripping anything. I had to cut my center pins and I could not reuse my old spring clamps. My U bolts were trashed.

according to some random thread stock is ~17" hub to fender flare mine is at ~20" front and rear. so thats 3" now that i got my lazy *** up to look. not bad since it rides like stock and i started with inverted rear leafs.

Use an xj leaf pack...use the number one under your main and the number 2 under your second and use the originals for the rest of the pack. I did this and it gave me 2" exactly, plus it doenst squat that bad anymore and the ride is amazing! I hear s10 packs will give a rough ride, plus mine have great flex too seeing as xj leafs are much more flexy.
