Question gear ?s can you interchange ring and pinions?

can you interchange ring and pinions. for example take a stock 41 count ring and put in a 11 tooth pinion to make it a 4.56. has anyone ever interchanged gears or are pinions sized to ring

no, pretty much a horrible idea. The ring and pinion gears are a set, even if u were to have to 4.10 sets and swapped pinions it's still a horrible idea, They're paired together.
