Has anyone tried running their XJ on gas fumes? Or even just minutely enhancing their gas mileage with a bubbler? I tried searching it. Any help would be appreciated.

No. I mean on gas. Making essentially a gas bong. YouTube it. There's videos on. Running an engine on fumes or vapors. Only. No gas from your tank. Was thinking about tinkering with it.

 

You should just run it on water instead.

2. I ran water through it. Worked like a charm for the gunk.

When I have the time, I'll watch but I'll just say this, if it were really a viable option, don't you think everyone would be running it? Just sayin'.

Smokey Yunick did it with a Fiero in the 80's. Look it up. It was ahead of it's time.

I know it sounds like a pipe dream but I think when people have tried these modifications in the past ever one said they were a hoax. Now with you tube you can see people do this in live footage, noncut. Doesn't mean they can't fake it, but I was just asking if anyone toyed with it.

 

Smokey Yunick's Fiero was a little different from these other things people are claiming to have built in their garages. It used a turbo to superheat the fuel and run the motor past its normal temperature range. It wasn't a gas can with holes poked in it.

Meanwhile, people are blowing themselves up trying to build these stupid things. The people in that link blew themselves up trying to run a lawnmower on a bubbler.
