Default G2 rear disc brake kit

I installed the G2 rear disc brake kit on my 93 XJ with the 8.25 axle.
I figured I'd write a review on it. Lots of people say to just swap in a 8.8 axle or Grand Cherokee brakes. I chose to use new parts as I had already invested a lot of money on my axle with re-gearing, a locker, and I didn't want to kiss off all that money. To each there own.

The kit seems to have high quality parts and installation would be very strait forward if the instructions were better. So, I'm going to help out with the bad instructions right here.

**The spacer ring isn't needed in any C-clip application. You need to get longer wheel studs to make up for the thicker brake discs (sadly this is not even addressed in the instructions). You'll need to figure out how you want to reroute or shorten the hard brake lines to work with the new flexible lines. You'll need to order parking brake lines seperate from G2. Make sure you pick the right year**

That being said, the upgrade is great and the install isn't hard if you add the above information.

Put the same kit on this summer and it was very simple and nice to have clean, new hardware to work with. Quality stuff, too...Stoptech brake lines, Centric calipers, and Powerstop slotted rotors. I was installing new chromoly shafts at the same time and just got lucky that they came with slightly longer studs. The only complaint is that the bleeders are almost right up against the leaf pack, so there isn't much room to get a hose in there without pinching it. Also grabbed the prop valve from a ZJ at the junkyard to make sure the bias is proper.

Love the upgrade, the braking feels so much more balanced and stable now. And doing new pads in the future will be so much nicer instead of dealing with drums, leaky cylinders, and that whole antiquated assembly of springs...

I like shiny brakes. They make me feel like I could stop if I wanted to.

Its a safety thing.

I bought all my Kit from Big David with a lot of new parts included for far less money.
