fuel filter/pump
So I have a 96 Cherokee, and I need to change the filter and possibly pump. I've looked up location for the filter and everything says "driver side rear axel side wall" Low and behold IT'S NOT THERE! My husband said its a "special edition" so it may be different. (its his jeep, but he's serving so I'm taking care of it) I really dont want to drop the tank and pull the pump if I dont need too.
any advise, pics, etc. would help
THAAANKS!

The filter should be able to be seen on the inside of the driver side uniframe rail, in front of the driver side rear wheel. I do not know where it could be if it is not there, unless somebody bypassed the filter with a hose. If so, there should be some metal lines that will have a rubber hose connecting them, and perhaps a spot for a bracket.
Are you sure it is a 96, not an 86? Not trying to be insulting, but there would have been differences between the years.
What is making you want to change the fuel filter / pump? Are there any problems with the vehicle as far as running / driving?
