Default Front Sway bar link

Alright I just out on a one and a half inch lift on my xj yes I know its not much but its enough for me(: but my problem is that the front sway bar connector rod moved a lot closer to the coil spring even though its not a big lift. I know for a fact that I don't have to get any extensions according to the RC website but they are touching the coil spring, so what should I do?

Suspension and drivetrain can vary on different jeeps... if the swaybar end is hitting the springs you will need longer links. A budget method is to cut your links and weld in some matched diameter rod (in your case probably about 1.5" long). Just be sure that it is welded the right way as the swaybar can take lots of stress.

One thing you'll learn is that what these manufacurers websites say don't mean **** most of the time.

You can either make or buy extensions or you can buy some fancy sway bar relocation brackets to accomplish the same thing.

Are you sure your springs are seated correctly? How'd you lift? Spacers up front?

Or could remove them. People will argue all day about safety on this. Well if a person drivers correct and not like an idiot then no away bars are fine.

Yes spacers up front and also installed new coil springs. And that's what I am thinking about going with is take them off completely and just have to get used to how it steers.

Like Dogger said, people will argue on that, and I'd be one to do that haha. It can make emergency manuevers (spelling?) and braking unpredictable and unstable. It doesn't always matter how good of a driver you are if the idiots come and find you.

Can you run with no front sway? Yes. Should you on the street? Probably not in my opinion. Your rig may be different but many people experience odd pulling under heavy braking and you'll get a lot more body roll when trying to steer which can be dangerous at highway speeds if you have to dodge something (or someone).

Go for some adjustable end links or extend the ones you've got would be what I'd say to do. Taking them off is fine for a short term solution, but I wouldn't do it long term.

I took it off for now and drove it around and did not realize that much of a difference but there is a difference but I am going to get the adjustable links soon just for safety due to I drive a lot on the high way and we will find out how that goes tomorrow.
