Front springs
I'm looking at changing my front springs , they sagged and the front end is sitting lower then the back. I need a 4.5" lift spring but I want a sooth ride spring . I'v been reading reviews and just don't know with one to go with . I was looking at Superlift Suspension 550 lift springs or maybe Rubicon Express Front Coil Springs 4.5" Lift XJ RE1310 and Skyjacker Softride Lift Coil Springs . I'm asking because I know some of you are using these springs , I do not want a hard ride I drive my xj a lot . please help thank you . I don't want to spend more then $200 for front springs .

I have read multiple times that stock rate is 147 lb/in. Not sure of the accuracy of this but..

I have the 4.5 rough country springs... I know rocks are about to get thrown at me for saying this... but they have been fine! no sagging, and yes I actually take mine down some hardcore trails out at rampart range road.
I was actually just looking at my jeep the other day thinking about how well those springs have held up compared to what everyone has told me.
However, it's not a soft ride. My cousin has the skyjacker soft rides and swears it's like a Cadillac. If that is #1 concern, I'd go with those. He's never had anything bad to say about them. The opposite really... loves to brag about how much nicer his xj is than mine lol.

I haven't ridden in anything with skyjacker springs so can't comment, but my RE 4.5" springs are also really stiff. Its crazy how stiff they are actually, almost as stiff as some sports cars

I do have Bilstein 5100s which helped a ton with ride quality. Control Arm Drop is going to be one of my next upgrades once I get some drivetrain issues put to bed

Around the stock rate would be good , I still want it to drive good but I don't want to lose my teeth on the bumps on the road . It rides ok now but I don't know what spring are in it now because it came with the jeep when I got it. the price on the RE is real tempting but the Skyjacker Softride spring sound like it will ride better has any one used these before ?

I ended up ordering the RE springs from amazon for about $100 I just couldn't pass up the good deal and it will leave me some money if I need new shocks .Thanks for the input

okay interesting stuff, if i am correct if i have a 6 inch lift with a winch i am going to want some stiff coils right? Either way a good pair of shocks would help dampen the road while driving.
