Well RE kit came the other day and today was install day, at least for the rear end. Doing one side at a time i had a buddy there to help so i loosened everything in the back just so i could do the rest by myself after he left.

Well after hack sawing and using the cutting wheel i was able to get the front bolt out. Seized sleeve on the bolt. So now everything is removed and ready to put back together kind of. Shock bolts also broke.

So heres my question. How do i go about breaking the welded nut in the frame housing? I already cut the frame out like previous posts show. I just can punch it out like i thought i could.

Next, what size drill bit and tap are people using to get the shocks mounted. Also doing the sway back bracket mod so i don't have to deal with this ever again.

is the welded nut still welded to the frame and the threads are stripped?
if that's the case, can you stick a wrench in the hole you cut to fit around the nut, then just twist the nut till the tack welds break.

i cut my hole in the frame tab cup area where the nut sits, just large enough for a wrench to fit in and grab the nut.
my nut threads didn't strip, just the welds broke and it was just spinning free.
i am still using the factory nut but hold it with a wrench while it tighten up the bolt.

as for the shock nuts. i cut small holes in the floor above the welded nut and did the same thing, twisted the nut off and used a new nut and bolt to hold the shock in place, then just tack the metal back in the floor so i can access it later.
i didn't tap new threads. but you can if that's the way you want to go. just drill out the broken bolt in the center and use a tap that fits.
