Exclamation frame crack welding ..!!!!!

please I Need Help From some Expert welder ....

i have crack on my xj frame i need to know what steps should i do to fix it ???

what kind of weld ?? wire size ?? what sittings should i do to the welder machine?? anything can help please ???

I'll post what I did in your other thread...
Looks like someone already tried and failed. You need to drill the ends of the cracks then grind out as much of the old weld as possible. You can mig it with .030 or .035 wire with settings for 1/8"-3/16" metal. It would not be a bad idea to plate the area after the crack is fixed.

If ya gotta ask what wire & speed/heat settings to use, you're not ready to weld it.


Find some similar thickness metal and practice on that, you'll figure out the wire speed and heat setting for best penetration & all that.
Hopefully you're not limited to a 120v machine, I wouldn't even bother trying it with one.
And yeah somebody already did try welding it, I would grind all that excess stuff off first so you're penetrating the frame and not just the old weld.

Also I second what the other guy said about plating it, that'd be a very good idea while you're at it.

thanks for the info .... i bought this kit they told me it will help after welding thats why i asked for welding info
