I've always looked forward to the monthly issue of the magazine... Now, like so many others it's being discontinued.. The notice arrived today, the last issue is Feb 23... Yes, I know the internet is taking over most information avenues... But getting that monthly issue with all the Jeep tech and latest toys always brought a smile while getting pulled from the mailbox...Man, I'm getting old I had a subscription to CarCraft when the plug was pulled on that one as well...

 

I was subscribed to that one for quite a long time when I was younger. Dirtwheels, Street Trucks, Car Craft, a couple rat rod mags, I think Honda Tuner, and Super Chevy at one point. I always had magazines coming in I looked forward to them constantly. I miss them to a point but at the same time I didnt have the time to keep up with all of them lol

I still have a few large totes of old magazines in storage. once in awhile I'll go digging for a 15-20 year old mag to read an article I remembered from my past

 

I used to read the **** out of those way back when.
Some of you guys will remember a time before the internet.
Pretty much anything you did to your 4X4's those ideas came from 2 places.
Those magazines and whatever you and your circle of friends figured out.
Of course things were much simpler back then too.
The J.C. Whitney catalog was your best friend when you owned an old CJ.
I used to hear the VW Bug guys say that too.
I miss those days.

 

Haven't bought any for years but I still have dozens of issues of Peterson's 4 wheel and off road, Diesel Power and Diesel world magazines that I still read sometimes.

 

They do take up a bunch of room... I've got a "clean room" in the second floor of the shop with a few magazine racks{this is the mopar section...lol..}.. I keep all the media/info up there for future reference...

 

I know, bummer! They offered Motortrend+ subscription for a year, but not much 4x4 content.

 

I signed up for Motortrend + and have been scoping out the content...
I've been wondering if they will have any special content in this last upcoming issue for the magazine....It's saddening to see just a few issues back the first issue's aniversary and now the last one's up next...
