I have a ford 8.8 with LSD and 4.10 disc brakes, how can I tell what it came out of so I can get the correct seals and bearings. I also need to get the correct calipers and pads. Thanks.

I'm glad I didn't let these go like this I would have been embarrassed, didn't know the 30 was in that kinda shape and the 8,8 needs seals for sure.Originally Posted by Xj88

I just bought axle seals today. I just picked the year 1999 and went to autozone and asked for seals for an explorer of that year. They gave me the right ones for $4 each. I have a disc brake 31 spline 8.8

Wouldn't have hurt my feelings. I would have gone through them before putting them under the XJOriginally Posted by ctjkelley

For the 8.8 diffs that would fit a jeep with out narrowing there are only 2 seal options. The 2 are 8660S (aprox 2-1/4" O.D.) & 8835S (aprox 2-9/16" O.D.) National seal numbers.
Hope that helps,

Are there disc brake 28 spline axles out there? I have never seen one. I will be looking for spare shafts before long and am curious how careful I have to be about what I get.
