Default Fog Lights

I was interested in installing some fog lights on my 1999 XJ sport and was wondering if anyone had any opinions on which ones are good reliable ones that are not too pricey.

I am looking to put 2 round ones on the front, and was also wondering how they are mounted to the car?

Any help/ info is appreciated. Thanks!

I used some Hella 55watt rectangle ones. However, I mounted mine to the underside of the bumper. I just drilled 2 holes, and mounted them directly to the bumper.
Hella makes some decent lights, and they are pretty reliable. Bulbs are readily available to replace when they burn out.
I always like the look of their 500, and 500FF lamps. I will probably get some for the roof once I install my rack.
You could mount them directly to the top of the bumper, but getting to the inside of the bumper is difficult unless you unbolt one side of it.

There are a myriad of choices when it comes to round fog lights.

On the cheap end there are

Harbor Freight: http://www.harborfreight.com/automot...stem-3029.html

Northern Tool: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too..._350960_350960

Walmart: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Blazer-Baj...White/15111230

Then you can go more moderately priced

This is by no means an exhaustive list but should give you a good starting point in your search for more light.

As for mounting. Most of these either use a stud or a bolt that goes through a hole that is in the top of the bumper. Your 99 likely doesn't have those holes pre-drilled but it's not hard to put the holes in yourself.

Good Luck!

I used stock fog lights and mounted them right under the head lights to increase the approach angle.

I bought mine off ebay. they are the factory ones. kinda pricey about 55 or so a piece. very sturdy lights though. mount in the stock location on the frame. bolt them right up.
