Flux wire welder strong enough? lca mount
I need to replace my LCA mount and only have access to a hobart handler 140 with (flux) wire. Is this going to be strong enough, and will flux welds hold up compared to a weld with gas? Anyone in summit county colorado that wants to help out? Thanks!

the hobart handler will do the job just fine thats a good welder. Flux is just as strong as gas. gas and flux are just shielding agents the only issue with flux is that it splatters and pops alot more.
Just make sure to set your heat and feed to the right settings and get GOOD penetration.

Plenty strong. Remember you are welding to thick sheet metal on the frame anyway. The metal in the wire is stronger than the mild steel you are welding to.

You talkin axle or frame? I welded mine back on he axle with a Lincoln 120v and reinforced it with 3/16 steel. Worked beautifully. Just make sure you have deep even penetration (get your mind outta the gutter)
