FelPro oil pan gaskets didn't fit properly

On my 1996 Cherokee I replaced the rear main seal. A real problem I had was the FelPro oil pan gaskets I bought didn't fit properly in the rear. when I tacked the gasket to the engine block there was too much clearance at the rear bearing cap which is a critical area. I tried two different ones. I wound up buying a MoPar gasket that fit perfectly.

Strange, my Fel-Pro fit perfect. Which one were you using? I think they make a couple different ones.

It was a blue one. I know. They have a good rep that's why I bought them. I have always bought them. Maybe it's just an East Coast problem. The thin, free standing tail piece in the rear was too long on both gaskets. Beats me Brother, just something to watch out for.
