Default Engine Swap Viability

I got a 2.5 litre 5 speed manual xj. Thinking about an engine swap to a 4.0

I know it would be easier (maybe cheaper) to buy a 4.0 but I've spend to much time and effort on this jeep - 4.88 gear ratio, ARB lockers front & rear, 6.5" lift kit, rear disk brakes, etc

Please give me pros/cons of doing an engine swap.

i think your biggest hassle would be 1) the computer's and 2) fitting a 6 where there was a 4...

something to make the swap easier is to pull the whole engine/tranny set up from a 6 and drop that in. should simplify the computer aspect... idk what would need to be done to accept a whole swap like that. hit the thread search?

If I do this...engine mounts have to be modified.

Need the 4.0 engine, wiring and computer box. Is there any additional items required to do the swap?

sell the 4 popper jeep buy a 6cyl jeep.... with gas prices you should get decent $$ and the price difference between motor ecu and whatnot vs another cherokee it's not worth the work
