Ok so I have been lookin into doin an engine for my 89 jeep cherokee laredo I6 4.0, I want to swap it out for a more recent year I6 4.0 like 91-00. I wanted a chevy 350 but ive been readin it a big pain in the *** and pretty expensive, so my question is what would I have to do if I just wanted a more recent year I6 4.0 High Output perferably with out breakin the bank, would I need a tranny swap, computer swap, new motor mounts any info would be greatly appreciated.

Swap in the later model long block and bolt on everything from your original motor.
If you want the sensors and PCM from a later model you'll have to snag those from the donor rig.
Renix Fuel System doesn't play nicely with anything but a renix motor.
If you use a 96+ fuel system you'll need a 96+ fuel pump to match the motor.

The reason I want a newer year motor is cuz there is hardly any aftermarket parts for my 89 4.0 motor everything is for a 91 and up motor
