Hey guys, was wondering if any of you would be able to help with my problem. I got a 96 cherokee with the 4.0 high output and AW4 trans. Went on a trail the other day and afterwords started running really poorly. I replaced the head gasket and valve cover gasket, along with new plugs and wires. It starts, but still runs really rough. Sometimes if I give it some gas it clears itself out and runs good until I hit low rpms. Other times it just Jeeps running poorly. Any ideas?

Start simple... Check your grounds, check your dist cap % rotor, battery, alternator, compression, then start checking sensors... I'm hoping you didn't replace the head gasket just because of it running poorly when it could be something cheap and simple.

Grounds all look good, no check engine light or codes, the headgasket seemed to have a small leak so I'm not too worried about changing it. When I did change it all looked pretty clean under the valve cover gasket. The picture is from under the head. I'm starting to think it's am IAC or TPS sensor because it stalls at low idle, but it sometimes runs good above 1000 rpm
