Once the engine gets hot it starts cutting out at low rpm. If I can keep the rpms about 2500 it runs fine. When the rpms drop it wants to die. If I drive it for 15 min and the rpms gets to low it dies I can start it but it takes a few minutes to get it started. If I drive it for about 30 minutes and the rpms get to low it dies and I have to let it sit for a while before it will start it. When it does idle after getting hot it surges and dies. If any body can help it'll be appreciated.

Battery connections are good. I had to change the alt. The problems started about the same time. But it acts up after it gets hot.

Problem fixed. It was the crankshaft sensor. On a 96 jeep cherokee country edition w/4.0 L. The crankshaft sensor is located on driver side of engine in back where bell housing mounts on engine.
