I am looking at ditching some of the wires and emission stuff under the hood, any suggestions? I have put a K&N filter on a truck, and it still ran good,so what can be eliminated, and still keep it running?(Sensors etc.) 1989 4.0

Why get rid of it? You like smog?

You actually need most of the stuff. Maybe EGR wouldn't be bad to get rid of but the engine will run hotter if you do. Otherwise unless its broken i'd just leave it.

Eh, EGR is only operational under cruise condidtions, blocking it will do nothing but increase Nox emissions.....Only way you could get rid of some of it is if it was carbed, a lot of that stuff actually made it worse, and seeing as now a lot of that old stuff is obsolete, it wouldn't matter.
