Hey guys i have A 1990 jeep cherokee 4.0 4x4, i converted my cooling system to the open (with a radiator cap) and i had my stock clutch fan and stock electric fan both keep the jeep cool while mudding and revving high, if it got hot it was able to pull the temperature back to normal within a few minutes while running in idle, well i converted my system to dual electric fans because my clutch fan made a nice small whole one day off roading due to the clutch contacting the radiator, well long story short both electric fans can't keep the jeep cool in my drive way at idle i read i need a minimum of 3,000 cfm so i bought 2 10' e fans that claim to pull 1730 each which is a total of 3,460 i put a piece of paper towel infront of the radiator and it can barely hold the paper

i seen some people run 3 10' fans but I'm not able to fit 3 how do people do that??
i need some advice its not a daily only for offroad and i live in miami where is 90+ all the time

What fans are you using?

Did you build a shroud? if not, they are worthless.

Are you choking the fans? What size wire? each fan on it's own relay?????

What triggers the fans?

I'm using 2 10 inch off eBay ( yes I know there cheap I'm just on a budget and iv seen some people use these same fans) , no I do not have a shroud but I was able to get the oem electric fan shroud and was able to modify it to fit one of the eBay one and no difference in performance, I believe I'm using 14 guage wire and I didn't hook up a relay just power and ground with a in line 20 amp fuse with a on/off switch ( each fan is on there own circuit)

If your fans are not COMPLETELY shrouded as these are......no worky.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/JEEP-CHEROKEE-XJ-FFD-EXTREME-TRIPLE-THREAT-ELECTRONIC-COOLING-FAN-CONVERSION-KIT/161039392357?_trksid=p2141725.c100338.m3726&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20150313114020%26meid%3D2a6f904f4e574fe4ae1a44cc219387ad%26pid%3D100338%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D9%26sd%3D160565993369

You should have no more than 2' of 12g wire from the source......battery to fuse to relay to fan.
Ground DIRECTLY to the battery.

Your switch should be the GROUND trigger ,...and....or....the thermo switch.

Without a shroud you are not pulling air through the rad......you are pulling air from around the fan.
