I have an 00 2WD 4.0l auto that im planning to lift on on 31s or 32s, i will most likely be getting 4.10s. are ebay gears like this any good?

Buy gears from a reputable dealer with a warranty, not eBay. Go 4.56's if you're going to be towing.

Why cheap out on gears?

Are you going to install them yourself?

You can get much better brands like USA Standard which are technically Yukon form places like completeoffroad.com, which I've gotten several sets from, and they are the same price as those junk Motive brand gears.

if you are not going to install them yourself and if you have a reputable shop to install them for you, I would ask them for any recommendations and/or have them order it for you.

just do yourself a favor and break them in properly before you start towing anything with them.

Its not just gears that your going to need. You have to get a front and rear install kit. new front carrier. So your looking at least $400 for the front axle and about $250.00 for the rear. Don't cheap out on your gears or install kits. Because all said and done after parts and labor your looking at about $1000-1200. ct67_72 Is a vendor on hear i got my Nitro gears and parts from him fast shipping .

Don't think he'll need gears and a carrier for a 2wd.

90% of the gears on ebay ARE USA Standards... email and ask everyone one of those companies and ask what brand there gears are since they dont say and they will tell you USA standards... ebay is fine and if you know what your doing you wont get scammed lol... hard to get scammed when using ebay and paypal these days... gese people...

that being said Motive Gear has been around a long time... your not gonna break them with 32's... quick search shows 413 reviews at summit racing and 5 out of 5 stars... countless forums praising them AND they also own Ten Factory which i didnt know... they make reputable shafts...

So much crap info going around on here these days...

If i was to give you real advice i would say "You only want 4.10's... go find a stock 4.10 XJ and buy the rear axle and swap it out yourself for the price of new gears of ANY brand"

Motive gears have been noisy in the two set ups I've seen.

That is true that eBay sellers are typically fine, if they are reputable and all. I would just prefer ordering over the phone for something like gears and talking to a person.

I am not voicing my opinion about which brand of gears is best. But you guys do realize that if you dont receive a purchase made on Ebay, payed for with paypal , you will get your money back, right? The only way to get scammed is if you are buying used stuff in as-is condition. I dont see how buying Motive gears on ebay is any different then buying them from anywhere else. Just saying. Ebay is the greatest thing ever invented.

The seller the OP is reffering to is Rough Country. So how would he be getting scammed by ebay if the gears were bad ?
