I've heard if you run 2 antennas they have to be properly spaced (like 8' apart of something?) to work at full potential. Honestly i don't see how it would be much better than having just one. Plus you'd have to go through the trouble of wiring them both. Though it does look badass lol..i run a single 102" whip and works good

if you have dual antennas(co-phased) is the actual term for it. It does look really awesome but it makes your recieve and transmit directional which means it picks up better in the direction that you are pointing not saying it wont pick up things from the sides it still will but they are made to increase your foward or rear distance

AS stated above, yes you need about 8-9' in between the dual antennas to work properly. That's why truckers have them on the outer edges of their mirror frames.
I wouldn't recommend it at all. More trouble and hassle than its worth IMHO. You'll be fine with one 102" stainless whip or a 4' fiberglass top loaded, tunable tip antenna. I run a Wilson 5/8 wave length 4' tall rated to 1000watts and its actually more antenna than I need but with my tuned cobra 25 I can send and receive about 8-10 miles in the city.
