Default Drum to disc swap out

Thinking again about doing the swap on my XJ after I get my WK brakes completed. It seems there are several different calipers and rotors than can be used to do the change over. I know about the 98 Grand rotors and calipers. What are the others. I believe I've read somewhere that Liberty parts can be used as well. Any list available of the useable vehicles to get the parts from? Thanks.

Use Liberty caliper brackets, calipers, pads, rotors, and brake hoses. You will need to change out wheel studs as they will be too short. Also keep all hardware you remove from the liberty.

Any years, just be sure to take all parts. Because there were a few different caliper options. So if you have the used caliper to match up to the new one you won't have any issues.

Is this a direct swap or is there drilling or grinding to get things to fit? Is there a video?

Right, I think they were 02-06. But no drilling. All bolt on. I did however weld a tab to bolt the new flex lines to the axle. I've done multiple swaps using KJ parts.

I've got this one bookmarked for later down the line if I don't swap axles. Pretty good write up

The depends a bit on which rear axle you have. Older XJs with the D35 non-clip have a different bolt pattern. That actually matches the D44 as I recall? I have 92 Crown Vic disk brakes on mine, which was a near straight bolt-on expect having to make one spacer and modifying brake lines to use the stock crown vice hoses.

OP has a 96, I've seen him around in some other threads. D35 was kinda rare in the later years unless it had ABS. Giving the fact he is doing a WJ knuckle swap, I doubt he has ABS. So he will most likely have the 8.25 In which brakes will be a direct bolt in.

Why you say that ?

I have a 96, and I plan on doing the WJ swap soon.......and yes, I have ABS & a D35.

Is there some reason I don't know of ?
