Default door swapping 97.5-01 swapping to the early years and glass

I got a 92 xj and I want to go with the 97.5-01 doors. Has anyone done this? Also looking to swap my glass out and was wondering if the 97-01 windows work in my Cherokee and the hatch glass and door itself. Lots of **** I know but just need to get this done.

I put '97 doors on my '89 & made them removable in the process. Some early '97's have the same hinges as the the pre '97's. You will need the strikers from the donor XJ, as they are different.

Thanks. The gaskets worked good also? And have you done any glass? Like the rear side windows?

I've put 97+ glass in my 87. I don't recommend the way that I did it though (front doors). I basically cut out the inner panel from the 97+ doors and attached it to the shell of the 87's doors. Had to align everything to make sure it worked right. All the rubber should work in the same way. Rear door glass was easy. Simple remove/replace. I think i had to drill 1 hole in each rear door on the top. Rear 97+ hatch will be extra difficult to put onto an early XJ, way more work than it's worth. Easier to just buy a newer XJ if you really want the hatch.
