Ive got a rock krawler adj track bar and bracket on the way and i wanted to know if the bracket that comes with it is a drop bracket or if it is the same as the stock braket? I have 3" of lift.

drop pitman arm? you dont need one at 3" lift.
the trackbar bracket usually does have a drop to it to compensate for the lift height.
pitman arm and trackbar bracket are totally different things

I know there different. They have a relatonship though. In order to prevent bumpsteer your track bar and your drag link need to be at the same angle. So if you put on a drop trackbar bracket but not a drop pitman arm, the result will be bumpsteer. If one is dropped, the other has to be dropped too. I dident think that it was a drop bracket but i wanted to make sure. I was hopeing that someone with this track bar would chime in.Originally Posted by xjbeadlocks

My apologies, your first post wasn't very clear. But I put IRO'S double shear track bar on my xj with 3.5" of lift and kept the steering setup stock with no issues. I would say you're probably ok drop bracket or no drop bracket.

Alright thanks. Sorry for being a little snippy. Things make more sense in my head sometimes... Originally Posted by McCalley08

Yes they do relate to each other to an extent. If the trackbar bracket is dropped the pitman arm doesn't have to be in every situation. I have seen and Im sure there are numerous xj's here with 5" plus lifts and stock pitman are with very little bumpsteer.Originally Posted by Drewjharper1900

I'm at 4.5"-5" on 35's with stock pitman arm and have zero bumpsteer with rubicon express trackbar bracket.

I guess a better question for me to ask would have beenOriginally Posted by xjbeadlocks

Does the rock krawler adj track bar and bracket need a drop pitman arm to keep the drag link and track bar at the same angle to avoid bumpsteer?

Hahaha. Good one. Maybe you should attach it to your left LCA mount. Originally Posted by Drewjharper1900

On a serious note though. They do relate but the more I work on my XJ the more I know that what works for one does not work on another also what is sometimes needed for some, others get by without no problems. Put the trackbar on and call it a day. The bracket only drops it a little bit so you most likely be almost even with your steering angle. Its on way more taller lifts that this becomes more critical.
