Jeep driver, what is so bad wrong with the Moog coils.
And what are we supposed to see in the picture comparison of the two?

What is "THIS" a representation of?
Also, you don't have stock cherokee wheels.

It is common to fit Ravine or Deep Canyon wheels to the XJ or MJ. Yes, they are stock Jeep wheels, 8" wheels with 5.25" BS.

You don't see the obvious?

Spend $100 or spend $200.

I don't care what you do.

I'm speaking of my experience.

I'll clarify my position on the Moog springs-

I ran 4600s on my MJ with stock springs, the ride was excellent as to be expected with Bilsteins.

I went to the 5100/5125 after I did my lift on the MJ.

I then installed new springs on the XJ and reinstalled the 4600s on the XJ, rears also, I made a set of BPEs.

The ride was horrible, so much so that I took off the 4600s and installed a set of stiff Gabriels to make up for the weak Moogs.

I attribute it to the variable rate springs.

They are weak with little rebound/resistance.

To the OP, one reason it is better to go to a 2.5-3" lift is the availability of adjustable TBs, almost all call for a small lift.

Yes I see that one is variable rate, as it is advertised to be, and the other isn't.
Which part # were they?
Moog thinks that xj cherokee springs have a spring rate of 126# which is going to feel rather soft.

i was after the same type of setup as yourself but i ended up going a different way as been in new zealand i cant get jeep parts very easily or cheaply by the time i have to pay freight from the states. i ended up putting in a 1.75" front coil spacer with stock spring pad, the rear i made my own leaf pack using some isuzu mu leafs added to the xj pack as they were sagged and also a extended shackle that i redrilled the spring mount hole higher up to lose abit of the lift. i have some crap cheap shocks in it that i got cheap because the big bore procomp shocks i put in made it ride rough as hell...only rode good after a good long drive up a gravel road. i have done lower control arms and an adjustable track bar but you dont have to do these. the ride i have now with the cheap shocks is good, i got a little lift around 1.5" because the old suspension was sagged but it rides nice now and with having young kids its important and i also load the the towbar with 3-4 downhill mountain bikes and it doesnt sit the **** down. i also tow a trailer alot for my atv racing and it does this really well at the height it is at the moment.

with a 4" lift you'll also need longer brake lines, and a slip yoke eliminator.
