ok i see the thread where you can use the front driveshaft and a yolk (part # 3103-27cv). I have the np231 and i was curious why i couldn't modify the yolk on there or find one from the front of transfer case? I looked up the part number an it says its for a np231 jeep transfer? i thought i read it was from a chevy of some sort. Is there somthing i am missing here

The yoke on the front of the t case is a different spline count. The reason your search showed that yoke part number for the 231 t case is because that is what it is widely used for these days. It is not an oem part number.
