Default Death wobbles/shaking

I have an 87 xj lifted 4in on 31s super swappers now. I had 33s but one blew out so down sized. When I reach a speed of about 35 I get really bad shakes and jerks all over the road. I just put on a steering assembly because old one was bent. When I mounted the 31s I didn't get the chance to balance or align the jeep yet, would this cause that problem? Any in put would be greatly appreciated because I am new to the jeep world. I just don't feel safe doing more than 45 because of the bad shakes and wobbles. If pictures are need of from end I will be glad to post some to help you help me. Thanks

lol Yes. A bad alignment and no tire balance on a big chunky tire like that will cause death wobble. Go balance and align the thing before you die.

I am going to be doing all that tomorrow, hopefully it will fix it. It's pretty scary driving on the highway

Yeah...... Avoid the highway until you're balanced and aligned

Hi Brandon here.
I am having the same issue. I get a really bad death wobble at 35mph. But if i go fast on the Highway i don't get death wobble.
I have a brand new Iron Rock trackbar and the Currie steering set up on a 5.5 inch lift. But i am on short arms and 33s. I feel the same way that i should align the tires again and balance them. Everything is almost brand new on my suspension but after a few trail runs and installing a Spartan locker in the Dana 30 i get the death wobble for the first time. I was thinking that i might need drop bracket as well to correct the CA angle.
Looking forward to seeing what fixes your death wobble.

Get it aligned and wheels balanced. Also take a look at your ball joints
