Default Dana 44 to Chryco 8.25

I know a Chryco 8.25 (Drum) rear will take a D35 (Disc) backing plate with some grinding but will a Dana 44 from an XJ backing plate fit a Chryco 8.25 with the same modd?? Thx...Tj

Don't quote me on this but, I think its the diameter of the axle tube and the bolt pattern for the little studs.

Bingo.

Joe, i looked into this yesterday on the TSM website. My caliper bracket wont bolt to an 8.25. The dimensions are shown on their site.

I have heard (but don't know for sure) that the disc brake backing plates from a Liberty (KJ) will fit the 8 1/4 without grinding. When I did my '99, I had to enlarge the center hole in the ZJ D35 plates about 1/8" to fit the 8 1/4. The bolt pattern and rotor back spacing was a direct fit.
