Putting 4.10's in my ol'girl tomorrow night and while making my set up bearings tonight my new pinion for the front doesn't have the pinion depth variance engraved into it. It only has the master housing depth (3.625).

I have set up dozens of 8.8 and 10 bolts but have never run into this. Does a MHD of 3.625 mean that the variance is basically 0.000 and I should work my shims from there with the currently installed pinion?

 

Start with the same amount of shims from old pinion and subtract or add as needed
