So was your budget not including install cost?

Anyone that can read will know there not the same any longer. Aussie is now made in the USA per there site but that post from "AussieLocker" seams fishy to me. Why post on here now after how many years of this site being up??

Edit: I'm always skeptical. I though someone was bored and was just messing around. Looks like we have the new owner of TM on CF now.

They are not the cheapest but are the best and they are Detroit Lockers I have them F & R D30/Chy. 8.25 with 4.56 gears bought the gears and master install kits from Rustys Off Road packaged sets for both D30/Chy 8.25.

Bought my lockers from Jegs on sale. They are worth the price in quality and they are very quiet to boot.

Aussies where made by Lokka for Torq-Masters up till 2012 and then moved production to Rochester NY due to quality and inventory availability issues as stated by the Aussie Locker rep that posted in my thread. After the move they made some adjustments to the original 2003 design.

So if you get an Aussie locker that was produced before 2012 it was made by Lokka, after 2012 it is made in the USA with some modifications and and improvements (I don't know what the mods and improvements were). It is possible to get pre 2012 production if buying used, or from a shop with small turnover rates. For some reason I doubt that Aussie would have recalled all unsold lockers after the change over, but it is possible. I do think they would honor and pre 2012 warranty issues though.

Right now I have no opinion on either company's product. The only reason I am leaning towards Lokka is the price difference. Now if Aussie was to send me a D30 and 8.25 locker for free I would gladly install them and form an opinion on how they work and how well they are made. I do like that they are made fairly close to where I live.

How did those cost you $800 all together? They are like $800 each.

Ya what he said^?! I've been looking at doing an e-locker in the front and I think I saw one for like $700 by itself. I'm looking to do that and a Truetrac lsd in the rear. Those two units and two diff covers bring me to about $1,500, plus the gears, install kits, shafts, and price of labor.

I hate thinking about how much money jeep parts are >

Isn't there a chance of really difficult steering with a lunchbox?

If you were trying to make a tight turn while under power in 4wd (like climbing a hill for example) then yes it could want to stay locked up and make it difficult to turn. 99% of the time that won't happen

I gotcha, that's mostly what I've heard is that it makes steering a *****. I've never run a front lunchbox though so I can't personally relate.good to know however
